How to Save Money on Dates

Dating can be expensive. It can cost a lot of money to take someone out! The bad thing is you are not even sure you will get at least a kiss at the end of it either. Luckily, there are several ways to save money on dates by just thinking outside the box. The following list will provide many frugal ideas for your next date.

1) Cook Dinner

This one is a classic. There is nothing cuter than someone cooking on the first date. You can impress your potential significant other with your skills in the kitchen, and you can even cheat if you want by grabbing take out and throwing it on a plate. After, you can pop in a movie and snuggle. The best part? You’re already at your place, if the date’s gonna lead to something more intimate!

2) Coffee Date

If you are just getting to know someone, a full dinner can be a little excessive. Ask the person in question out for a day date to a local coffee joint. You can sit and talk for as long as you like. Coffee is not expensive by any means. Also, if the date ends up being a bust, a drink does not take long to finish!

3) Be Active

Suggest a walk along the beach or a hike through the woods to a date who seems open to it. You can pack a picnic and pick a romantic spot along the way. Other things to consider include bikes, horses, fishing and rock-climbing. There are so many great activities that you can do outdoors that require little to no money, that you’re bound to find something that sounds enjoyable!

4) Museum Dates

Go to a free museum! You can show your date your sensitive or artistic side this way. You will seem cultured and unique. Museums may seem boring, but they are full of lonely corners. Modern art will be the best museum to visit because it will provide plenty to discuss. Grab drinks afterward to end the date.

5) Party Date

If you have met someone really cool in the recent past, invite them to be your date to a house party. You will not have to spend ANY money. Drinks and food will already be provided! Plus, there is the added bonus of showing your date off in front of everyone. It is also a great way segue into friendship mode if the date isn’t going as well as planned. On the other hand, if things are going very well, you can see if your friends approve!

All you need to do is use your imagination when it comes to dating frugally. There are plenty of other unique dating ideas when it comes to spending little to no money. If you really are at a loss at what to do, just have a movie night in at your place. However, it does not hurt to have a little creativity when trying to win your date’s heart either.
