I’m Excited – She Likes Hockey as Much as I Do!

Dear Ms. HeartBeat:
I’m a 21 y/o college student. I met a 20 y/o college student in class. Sweet, nice, all of the above. She’s also a very caring, and follows her religion very well. Since I’ve met her, I’ve become more spiritual, and have found myself becoming more open as a person. But I’ve spent my whole life playing hockey. Devoted everything to the sport and never cared much about women, but this one got me a little different. Now I don’t know what to do.

We hung out one time. I took her to a hockey game, she does love hockey. She’ll send me random text messages that mean absolutely nothing, but they’re funny and sent on a whim. We’re going to another hockey game next week. But I recently asked her to go ice skating, and she didn’t respond. Last night she wanted to know what I was doing, and I was busy, but we texted for an hour. We fill each other’s text messages up.

Is it possible that she’s reading me as not interested? Because I’m so oblivious when it comes to a female. I have no idea what to do, but I really would like to keep this person in my life. Am I a complete idiot? I’ve got no idea what I’m doing.

Ms. HeartBeat Responds:
You are not unusual at all, just more honest than most men. Cause they don’t know what the hell they are doing either!

I have a suggestion for you that you need to pay strict attention to. Though you’ve enjoyed spending the past 20 years on a frozen wasteland of ice, few women enjoy being cold for hours on end a couple of times per week. It’s not cute to be cold, and its not romantic either.

Fireplaces are romantic… blue fingers are not.

So what you should do is tell her that you want to take her out on a date. Then you ask her “what would you like to do or where you would like to go?” Then you make what she wants happen.

It’s winter time dude and cold in most of the country.  If she doesn’t really have a preference, suggest getting together and doing something indoors where its warm and cozy. Go someplace where she can take off her coat and gloves, and let you see the cute outfit that she bought special for the date, okay?
