AskHeartBeat.Com is the
brain child of entrepreneur Deborrah Cooper, who has also penned several
hundred relationship articles published on the site, as well as thousands
of advice columns under the pen name "Ms. HeartBeat." The site was
designed to focus on the unique stresses of Black and interracial
relationships involving African Americans. However, over the past decade
it has become obvious that most of the issues which were believed to be
largely limited to Black men and women are actually more societal in
nature, and thus affect men and women of all races and
nationalities.
Some of the many topics
covered include: Interracial romance, dating advice, flirting, sexuality,
relationships with siblings and other family members, kissing techniques,
single parents dating, domestic violence and emotional abuse, surviving
and thriving after divorce, teens and dating, adultery and cheating,
getting to "I DO", breaking up, long distance and online dating,
addictions and chemical dependencies, and many more heart-wrenching topics
are regularly addressed in the advice columns.
Ms. HeartBeat’s column
has been online since 1995, and is a long-time favorite of web surfers for
its wildly funny humor, biting wit and no-nonsense analysis.
