Ya know, after today I realized that I was wrong ...
Wrong for accepting an assignment doing direct client support in a customer service-type environment.
Wrong for thinking that professional Black folk would conduct themselves like professional black folk on the job!

Lemme tell ya about my day...
We recently received our huge supply order of half a million dollars in inventory that we are now distributing to those that requested specific items. One person came to my desk because an order she had placed a month ago is not in. Well, she didn't want to hear it as I tried to help her - especially since the actual request had never come to our office - was stuck in the approval chain, over which we have no control or visibility.
Anyway, while standing in the doorway of my office area, she proceeded to get loud and ghettoized (neck rollin and all) - easily heard throughout that part of the office. She went on for about 2 minutes before I stood up, came really close to her and said quiet enough that only she could hear...
"if you don't get away from my door acting a fool like this, it's gonna take the entire office of security to get me offa your azz"
Hmmm... I forgot all about the tenet of "the customer is always right"
