That's what I'm talking about.  Hillary is banking on name recognition alone.

I can see them introducing efforts that will benefit immigrants at the peril of those that have been here or something more sinister.
Well, for what it's worth, both Clinton and Obama have supported bills that would give amnesty to illegal immigrants (and McCain, of course, practically led the way on a few of them).

All of us might as well let this one go. Mexicans aren't going back to Mexico whether we like it or not. The globalist (capitalist) have their agenda & they need cheap labor. NAFTA (signed by Clinton) got the ball rolling.  This is *not* our grandparents America. Things are going to change.
Do you mean change as in rewarding law-breaking?  (That is what the amnesty in recent bills supported by Clinton, Obama and McCain would do.)

On one of the news programs, they were interviewing Hispanics and Asians asking who they liked and why.  It was something to hear that the overwhelming majority of Asians liked Hillary referring to her as liking "the white lady".  The interviewer said that for most of the Asians, they are more traditional and are not (yet) comfortable with the idea of a non-white as president.  Also, on both sides, there was a strong opinion that Bill back in the white house would be better for the country since HE has been there before and knows what to expect.  They feel that gives Hillary a leg up on other candidates because she will have him as her advisor.

Swipe on Obama & Clinton's record as senators. I haven't be able to confirm all of this yet but if this is true...

Senator Clinton has based her campaign on an erroneous claim to greater legislative and administrative experience.

Former President Clinton talks up her role in his administration on the campaign trail but pointedly refuses to release any documents that would provide greater details on her actual activities there.

It is broadly understood that Hillary spearheaded the response team that staved off Republican attacks and spun the many scandals of the Clinton years.

As to her Senate record, no one in the press has had the diligence to lay out her record for the public to assess. Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.

These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.

1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men' s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty.

Only five of Clinton's bills are more substantive.
16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

There you have it, the facts straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize.

During the first (Cool eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills.

He introduced 233 regarding healthcare reform,

125 on poverty and public assistance,

112 crime fighting bills,

97 economic bills,

60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,

21 ethics reform bills,

15 gun control,

6 veterans affairs and many others. His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427.

These included:

**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),

**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),

**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),

**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.

That might be what's happening, but don't you see a little problem with that as concerns the subject of illegal immigration?  If you add it all up, it basically says that economics is dictating that breaking the law should be rewarded.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think that's a good thing at all.

Phil,
Being a bring college educated fella, hopefully you managed to sit through an Economics 101 class...if so, then the very basic principles of Supply and Demand should be clear to you.  So, where is your concern and what are you doing/proposing be done about the Demand (American businesses and industry and mid-upper class White folks wanting cheap domestic servants) that is serving as the magnetic force drawing these immigrants(Supply) to jump over the border?

Of course I see a problem with it. Acknowledgment doesn't equate to agreement. And, I'm glad that you noted that all of the 3 major candidates aren't going to do anything about it. Here's the real kicker. They couldn't stop it if they wanted to. Besides, we could spend the next month talking about all the thing we have problems with but because money is involved nothing will change.

The pharmaceutical industry funds clinicals & then pressures FDA for approval to sell dangerous drugs to you & I KNOWING it will kill a lot of folx. Clearly wrong but $$$

The Washington Redskins (& to be fair other sports franchises are guilty ) still carry on a legacy of racism w/ not only the name of the team but blatantly racist imagery. However, it's about a 1.4 billion dollar "brand". Clearly wrong but $$$

Bill Clinton passed NAFTA, an act which he knew would help to further erode the non-skilled labor jobs in this country & force a lot of Americans out of work in the name of capitalist expansion. Clearly bad for some Americans but.... $$$

We haven't even talked about war, colonization, slavery, genocide, etc for profit.

This is the real world man. It's not always pretty.

She ain't gonna pack it in just yet, if ever.  From what I understand, the big ones are comin up: Texas (lots of Hispanics) and Ohio.  Both those states have a lot of delagates.  Someone (I forget who, one of the analysts) said last night that Clintons are fighters.  They gonna keep on and use everything they got, and then some.

I saw part of an interview with Michelle Obama on Larry King.  She did a good job.

I've heard some Blacks say they don't want Barack to win "because they afraid someone will try to assassinate him".  Well, that's what security is for. Lots of Presidents and presidential candidates have been targets.  IMO that's a poor excuse not to vote for him.

I say if they think he should be President then get out and VOTE.
