This came to me via email...

Props to the Neelys and the Food Network! It's about time that we have more cooking shows featuring our Black culture. Of course the food could have less fat content, but then we are educated consumers who know how to make adjustments to a recipe. What we need to do is uphold our Black culture as a great contributing tradition to the amerikkan experience.

The Neelys and our new Food Network star Aaron McCargo, Jr are good to watch and enjoy. It is a source of pride for us as a Black nation. The parent corp. that owns the Food Network, HGTV and the Fine Living Network seems to be progressive because you see more people of color on those three channels than all of the basic cable/satelite channels.

What we need to note is that the Neelys have  a restaurant industry in Tenn and this exposure can only help build their empire. I'm glad to see a Black family portrayed as loving and involved with each other. And we do love to eat, so why front???  The fellowship around a dinner table  is a humane joy that has drawn us together as a people.

Kudos to the Neelys & Food Network!

This is great. However I don't watch Food shows.  That's too much torture for me to do that. No way I can't handle it!
