as in in your face racist white folk that make no bones about showing you they don't appreciate your kind?

Just curious.

Angry I've been irked since Tuesday about the level of ignorance and racism that is blatent in my office environment.  Here's what's bugging me this week.

We have these huge Plasma screen televisions hanging on stands all around my office.  Two for each section of the office.  They stay parked on the financial news stations and run current financial market prices and other pertinent financial news constantly.

Anyway on Inaugeration day a black woman in my office decided she was going to turn the channels on all the TV's on our side to Obama's inaugeration and set up a chair parked right in front of the TV so she could watch.  She also placed a chair there for me to sit and watch as well.  So at 11:45 this is where the TV was channeled and that is where she was sitting.  I was still at my desk doing work.  When I got up at 11:50 to go stand nearby to see at what point they were in the Inaugeration programming, I noticed that every single office and every single cubicle where white co-workers would normally be sitting doing their work was empty and the office was quiet as a mouse Shocked

I then went to check each desk and office on the floor to make sure I was right about what I thought I was seeing.  Cool  Sure enough every single office and desk that a white person sat behind was empty. Shocked  I said well I'll be... could it be that  all the white folk had all left the office... dissappeared... vamoosed on purpose!!! Huh   So I came back over to my co-worker (the black woman) and said where'd everyone go?  She said I don't know... I gave her a look and she sheepishly smiled at me as if she understood WHY I was giving her the look.

I then said, if McCain or some other white person was doing something important today like getting sworn in and celebrated they'd be all bugg eyed standing around the television screen like goons with their eyes pasted to the screen... and demonstrated how they look with their necks craned and their eyes bugged waiting with baited breath for whoever they want to see or hear to come on the screen.  This made her fall out laughing, but I wasn't finding it funny at all.  Angry  I continued my rant about how today when a black man is about to get sworn in for the most important office in the country they all of the sudden dissappear and have things to do outside of the office. Cool.  She laughed somemore... I stayed pissed off about it. Angry

It get's better.  The minute after Obama was sworn in all of the sudden they (all the white co-workers)  all return almost like clock work back to their desks/offices, and not one of them even paused for a minute to look at the continuing inaugeration ceremonies. Didn't care one iota about Obama, the speech, or the occassion.  They all had on coats which means they had left the office to go outside. Some were carrying bags of lunch which means that  lunch, (an early lunch mind you)  was more important then seeing the first African American President get sworn in and viewing the festivities surrounding that.  Angry

I said to myself man... it may have taken the collective white vote to get Obama into the white house, but these sorry mofo's around here certainly didn't cast their vote for him... that's for sure.  Roll Eyes   I put this on the level of a WALKOUT. They collectively banned together and decided that they would all leave the office and purposely miss the inaugeration of Obama. What else could it be?

I have other stories like this, but anyone else care to share their experience working with REALLY racist white folk?  I'm more than a little interested to hear what you have to say.

Shocked Shocked  Words fail me! Angry  Yet these white folks are begging for money to bail out their banks!!  Obama is fighting to give it to them and they do this! How are you interacting with these white folks that did this?  Are you pleasantly smiling and gritting your teeth at the same time saying, you racist mofo!  I don't have any in your face stories to share at this time, other than the one when the one woman got credit for a class that I didn't get.  I ended up getting that class paid for to by the way after I kicked up enough fuss.   So that was my little 'good ol white club story.  You know where whites look out for their own, but they won't tell the blacks about the benefits they are equally entitled to receive.  Black folks have to fight for it.

Oh... and I forgot to add to this story the fact that the black woman went around to the offices and let everyone know she was tuning the TV's into Obama and the inaugeration and basically leaving an open invitation for all to come watch.  Coming to watch means just stepping out of your office door for most of them since the TV's are so big and they are situatuated for convenience of seeing while talking on the phone with clients etc.  So they knew this was being done.  Cool  Racist mofo's  Angry

Some of them are people I work FOR directly as in they are the reason I am getting a paycheck, got a bonus (despite tough times) and haven't been layed off as of yet in this terrible economy. Sad  So I guess the question to ask is how do you react under those circumstances... I recognize a racist when I see one, but I'm nobody's fool either. LOL!  Cool

Whoa.  I'm sorry you had to go through that Bambi.  In my office, all of the white people said "F*ck Bush!  F*ck McCain!  I voted for Obama!"  I was actually pleasantly surprised by that attitude.  But I do know plenty of people that have an opposite attitude for sure.  And not just a "Oh man, the guy I voted for didn't win.  Well, I just hope this guy doesn't mess it up," kinda attitude either.  No, I mean a virulent, caustic attitude that is plainly steeped in hatred.  My husband is in IT and helps this guy who's been a friend of the family for so long, that my husband considers him family.  We've gone to dinner at this man's house, been at family functions etc.  But ever since Obama started running he's been making racist little comments to my husband, but only when I wasn't around.  (I guess he feels like since my husband is bi-racial, it's okay.)  It infuriated my husband but he feels he has to work with this man since he has done so much for his family over the years.  Long story short, he came out and said "I wouldn't vote for a Black man.  I mean look, if how you people live your lives is any indication, then I don't want that man anywhere near the white house."

My husband was hurt, shocked and dismayed.  I wasn't as shocked (I'm used to it by now) but was like, what's up with the "You people?"  statement that racists love to use?  As if all Black people are one entity with no difference in experiences or anything?  I had to tell my hubby, that you can't change people and just realize that you can't take all that personally.  And on the day my husband was supposed to deliver a shipment of computer parts to this man, the same day as Obama's swearing in, this man could not be found.  Home phone....no answer....Cell phone....no answer....doorbell...no answer.  Nothing.  And this is a person who will answer his phone at 2 a.m. if it's about business and always for my husband.  My hubby was confused but I knew what was up.  This man hadn't all of sudden turned racist.  He'd probably been that way for years.  It takes things like this for it to really come out.

I've lost a friend or two because their racism has been showing since this election.  And these are individuals that I've known for years, who've suddenly gone from "friendly debate," about their opinions to, when confronted with facts reveal, "I just don't think I'm ready for a Black man to be president."  And then they turn around and say, "But it has nothing to do with you of course.  You're great."  Angry

It's a shame we all have to go through this.  I understand people may be disappointed because their candidate lost.  Understandable.  But what is the biggest shame is that I understand even more that for many people, it's not about Obama's experience, his positions, his education or anything else, but it's because he's a Black man.  And this is 2009.  Damn.   Huh

Whoa!  Just reading this has me ready to kick a hole in a cubicle.  Angry  The nerve!  But yeah that's exactly what I'm talking about.  All of this nastiness coming out and they aren't even ashamed of themselves for displaying it.

Son of a gun  Angry   Nowhere to be found.  I hope your husband didn't miss out on seeing the inaugeration because of this chumps stupidity.  Angry  I'm sorry he had to experience this also.  It really puts a damper on things when you have to work around a bunch of ignoramous white folk.  Funny thing is if Obama were to show up in the office for a surprise visit, they'd all be kissing azz and showing teeth with their hands extend for a bullshyt handshake and be begging for an autograph.  Angry

My guy put up posters all over his office and on his door of Obama before the election.  Those cowards went and ripped down and discarded all the posters off the wall and door and all the while they had their own posters of Hilary posted up in their offices.  They say we are the violent one's, the one's with no class, the one's who don't want to get along and can't "get over it" (with regard to slavery), yet they are always the ones to show their azzes in the most despicable way by doing racist stuff like that.  Sad

L O S E R S !!!! lolololololol

I know how you feel though. I work for a "Fox News" like media company and the work atmosphere was posionous... hey, but I giggled with joy everytime I saw McCain down in the polls... some folks in my office went on a prayer fast for the man, losing themselves in prayer and stuff.... It actually made me pity them... truly. And when they lost the election, I thought more than few of them were going to lose their religion also.  Silly people... these are the same fools that "PRAYED" Bush into office and then abandoned him once it became the thing to do....

I'll never forget the look on one young woman's faced when I asked her about that... hey, didn't y'all pray for God to put Bush in office... what happened, God made a mistake?  The woman turned Dark Beet Red.... seriously though,  that girl got so angry at me she literally started to stink... she was HOT! Hormones flaring...  I left her alone after that... dang, it's not worth getting all stank over it... anyway... they watched all the inaugural stuff in my office... even the pc's were going.... almost everybody got all caught up in the moment.... people even started to ask me what was it really like to be black in a country where blacks had to be escorted by the national guard, just to get to school... They were literally shocked to hear some of my early experiences... even the stinky girl watched the whole thing... I might have even saw a tear in her eye... literally... she said she never thought she'd see the day.... she said somebody told her it would be a cold day in HELL before there'd be a black man as president.... we laughed our behinds off over that one.... as cold as it was that day... it made perfect sense!
