I"m texing one of my female friends and she says I do to much for women i'm interested in and that I don't remain a mystery. I maintain that being mystery is temporary and cannot be maintained indefinently unless I'm not feeling that woman and am dating another on the side. I have more dating experience than I care to share and what I noticed is that at the end of the day it boils down to how much that other person likes you! If they aren't into you like that doesn't matter how cool, how much money, status or confidence you have in the end it won't work out.
In your opinion how long should a man remain mysterious while in the dating process? Without purposely playing mind games is this even realistic?
Sorry but this sounds high-schoolish and junvenile. I wouldn't be interested in any guy who has to play a mystery game with me and to me a woman who believes in this type of behavior sounds a bit emotionally immature. Maybe what she meant is don't do too much too soon. Don't be a doormat. Don't let a woman know how much you like her, because then they'll start to take you for granted. Who knows? But you already said it II. If a person likes you, they like you, and if they don't they won't regardless of what you do or don't do. Of course you don't want to come on too strong by date 3 because that would come off as weird and probably scare the woman off, but if you're a mature level-headed guy, you'll know how to pace yourself in a new relationship just as the woman will.
People should be able to read non-verbal cues and know when to do what and get the timing right. That's not playing a mystery game, that's just maturity and common sense. If I'm going out with a guy and he's proposing by date 3, I'm running for the hills because something ain't right with that.

At this stage in my life, if I'm into a guy and he's trying to play a mind game (and yes being purposefully mysterious is playing some sort of game), then that's a quick way for him to get kicked to the curb with me. But that's just where I'm at right now. Some women may think otherwise.
