How should society encourage men to be more monogamous and commitment-minded?

We need something to counter the praises young men get for "sowing their wild oats" and bedding as many women as possible, even when in a serious relationship or married.  Such behavior is openly encouraged and I don't understand why.  Do men see no value in commitment with one woman?  Is it really THAT difficult to sustain for men, or is bouncing around just THE EASIEST THING TO DO?

The problem is double sided. There may be more women available then men in most areas but the number of available women who are open to committment seems to be slim. Age is definently a factor. 20-30, 30-40, 40 to 50 certain things which weren't important from 20-30 become important from 30-50 it seems. It all starts in the home.

Well I wasn't around back in the so-called good ol days of the 50's television when you had shows like Leave it to Beaver, Brady Bunch, (I do remember Good times), the Jeffersons, Little House on the Prarie etc...  I'm sure men sowed their wild oats then as well (men and women will always do this).  But never has it seemed to be so IN YOUR FACE as it is now.

MTV, BET, RAP videos, media, celebrity all of these things play a part in this hedonistic society we live in.  No shame is given to this type of behavior.  If we could get someone popular with a certain age group to openly advocate for monogamy, then maybe they may have some influence.
Let people like
PDiddy and some other sports stars openly advocate for committment and monogamy.
President Obama is a start, but for a lot of young folks, even though he's black, he's still too far removed from their sphere of thinking.  No easy answer there.  Hmmm.
