Sex and the City put stilettos in the spotlight and now a couple of mothers have put them in the crib.

Tiny soft baby shoe with soft heels, for infants up to 6 months, are "just a fun, novelty, dress-up item," says Britta Bacon, 30. "I've always been a shoe freak and I thought, `Omigawd, what if you could take a baby to a party wearing high heels? It would be hilarious!'"

Bacon and partner Hayden Porter, 31, call their Bellevue, Wash., company Heelarious (heelarious.com).

The one-size shoes, in leopard and zebra patterns, black and hot pink patent and hot pink matte arrived this week at Acheson's in Orangeville (achesons.ca). They'll be available next week in Toronto at the Doll Factory, 1122 Queen St. E.

"They're very cool," says Acheson's owner Dianne Acheson, who sells them for $39.95. "The packaging is so cute, with a great big rhinestone. They're a beautiful baby gift. The heel is soft. There's nothing that's going to affect the baby."

But there's been criticism of the product, on blogs and by some experts. "We get tagged as horrible and perverted: `Why would we put babies in heels, taking away their innocence?'" says Porter. "But a 3-month old baby has no idea she's wearing high heels."

And then these same mothers are going to be wondering how in the world did they get a line of perverts trying to knock down the door to the nursery. Stiletto heels are fetish item. They are used to attract and allure... AND you darn sure can't walk in them... (I ought to know... I nearly busted my behind in some trying to click, clack across a marble floor in a lobby... shoot, I skidded into a wall and promptly snatched those things off feet --- walking around in bare feet with some fishnets with the seam in the back hurt too... so I hung that kinda stuff up for the outside) Anyway.... back to the point....

Sorry but what's the FIRST number one thing a woman wears when she wants to turn it up a notch and sexually turn out her man... yep, Stilettos.... no man can resist them... .AND NOW we're going to outfit our babies with them.... SICK!

These women ought to know better.  Angry

Ridiculous idea indeed!  I see these women wear them walking around on the pavement in the streets of NYC.  I can't believe they can walk around in those shoes.  I don't own a pair of stilettos.  I can't walk in them.  I don't like high heels.  2.5 inches is the max for me and even in those, I'm not comfy.

Silly girls... stilettos were never made for actual walking...  Cheesy what you have to do is put on your walking shoes/sneakers for the streets and slip on your heels when you get to the club.

What's really sad, Ndgo, is that there are those twisted perverts that will sexualize a BABY wearing those heels.

Now that the Supreme Court has ruled that men that rape babies/children (not teens) w/o a murder are not eligible for the death penalty, there's not a big deterrent for those that sexualize children.

While they ARE cute... there is no way in HEYALL that I would let my baby girl wear cloth stilettos.  What's next, diaper thongs?!
