He has the right to work, so I evaluate this from a purely football standpoint.

I say, why not?  What the Eagles are getting is anyone's guess - he didn't live up to being a No. 1 overall pick before he went to jail, and now he hasn't played for two years.  Whether he's as fast or can throw like he once could is unknown.  But he can't be any worse than a number of backup QBs who never see the field except in mop-up situations.  It's not like the Eagles signed him in hopes that he would start and lead the team to a Super Bowl win.

MsHeartbeat, you are too much..You sound just like my cousin Stacy, who said that he's too fine to be kept out of the NFL..I had to laugh at her..By the way, y'all ladies do know that Mike Vick is one real short brotha? Dude is a shonuff SMURF.. Grin

But like Phil pointed out, he's done his time and he should be allowed to earn a living..Let the man resume what was once a future hall of fame career..

CB, I read that Michael Vick was 6' and 215 lbs, that's not nowhere near smurfville to me.  Wink

According to sportsnet. latest stats
"Michael Vick's stats"

Birthdate: June 26, 1980
Age: 29
Birthplace: Newport News, VA
Height: 6'0
Weight: 215 lbs.
NFL Seasons: 7
Drafted by in 2001 (1/1)

And according to sportsbusiness old article from when he played with the Atlanta Falcons.
"Atlanta Falcons announce Michael Vick contract extension"

"Michael Vick, 6-0, 215 pounds, was chosen by the Falcons with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech. The Falcons made a trade with the San Diego Chargers on the eve of the draft in order to acquire the pick to draft Vick. The NFL's fifth-winningest active starting quarterback (minimum 35 starts) with a .671 winning percentage, Vick's play has been a vital component for the Falcons, who have now secured two playoff berths in the last three years"

Can I add that Michael Vick is one fione brotha?

By general standards, he's not - he's taller than the average man.  By QB standards, yeah - just look at all the 6'4" and 6'5" quarterbacks.

What Hall of Fame is that?  It can't be one connected with football.  He came into the NFL with game-changing potential but has hardly set the world on fire.

Vick has had one season with a QB rating over 80 (83.8 in 2002), has thrown less than one touchdown pass per game (71 in 74 games) and has yet to throw for 3,000 yards in a season.  More than 70 quarterbacks with at least 1500 pass attempts have a better career QB rating than Vick - he ranks behind fellow "future Hall of Famers" like Trent Green, Ken O'Brien, Tony Eason, Elvis Grbac, Jay Fiedler and Erik Kramer in that category.  Sure, Vick can run, but guys who make the HOF for running have more than one season out of six with over 1,000 rushing yards.  He's 2-2 in the playoffs in six seasons, meaning he led the team into the playoffs just twice in six seasons.

I submit to you that if Vick's first six seasons are those of a future Hall of Famer, then being inducted into the Hall of Fame has lost all meaning.
