Is it true Asian women are more feminine than Americans?

Dear Ms. HeartBeat:
Define feminine, and what makes Asian women more feminine than American women. Also, how is it that they treat their men better? What exactly do they do that other women don’t? Maybe I could use a lesson. LOL!

Ms. HeartBeat Responds:
Those statements are racial stereotypes and very, very unfair. Don’t buy into stereotypes.

Though there are some cultures that cater to men and place women in second or even third class citizen roles (behind male children), the reality is that using race to define a woman’s behavior is ridiculous. A man that believes such nonsense is not choosing a woman for who she is, he is picking her for WHAT she is. Typically, objectification of women as things, body parts, tools for servicing a man’s sexual desires or needs is how many unenlightened men choose a “wife.”

Marriage to an American or European male by poor Filipino, Thai and Chinese girls is big business in Asia. Publishers of Asian bridal magazines and web sites have learned to pimp those stereotypes to the fullest.  The pictures they show present the women as innocent and delicate as possible. The ads they print stir silly men’s fantasies of superiority and female servitude. The women go along with it by pretending to be dainty, delicate, timid and suckuppy drones until they get to America, then they get just as rough and tumble and demanding as American women are!

The stereotype of the Asian female as the “traditional feminine wife” is nothing but a scam to get them access to a lifestyle they can only dream of in their country. Such a marriage also helps their families out of poverty as well, as part of the deal is always that the husband has to send a monthly stipend to the bride’s family. With a beautiful daughter to offer for marriage to a foreigner, an entire family can come up on some goofy American’s dime and a stereotype.
